Writing, gesture, painting

My latest project - the most complex & longest (started autumn 2016 for my PhD)

Reinterpreting figuration and art history icons as written signs, ideograms in a bigger vocabulary, in the language of culture & art history. Also, translating figuration into a complex layering of writing, scribbles, lines.
As for the technique: playing with partially controlled chance in tracing those real or imaginary letters (like the Zen masters tried to free the hand from the control of the ego), also "taking the line for a walk" (as Klee put it in his texts)

Re-writing the surrounding world's representations and the history of painting.

Studying the paradoxical nature of writing: both resilient (scripta manent) and fragile (the very nature of the medium - often paper - inexpensive and always available, but conveying messages that can change the world).
